INDIA EDGE SRI LANKA TO WIN 1ST ONE DAYER

A game that can be declared as one finest in the history of ODI cricket finally closes in with India beating Sri Lanka by a mere 3 runs in a thrilling finish. Chasing 415, the visitors gave it a tough fight right till the end but India held their nerves in the final moments to emerge out victorious.

The wicket was a belter for the batsmen as 825 runs were scored with both the sides managing over 400 runs. Both India and Sri Lanka matched each other pretty well as opener Dilshan hit a magnificent 160 off 124 balls while Lankan skipper Sangakkara made 90 off 43.

Sri Lanka were cruising in their run chase till the 40th over with wickets in hand and the sloppy Indian fielding dropping catches. But what made the difference was the bowling spell of Harbhajan (2/58) and excellent bowling in the depth by Zaheer and Nehra. Stay tuned for the presentation news..
